Ray

Now I'm not usually one to follow the hype of a movie. More often than not I will end up disagreeing with the "great, all-knowing" Academy when it comes to their awards.

Jamie Foxx won Best Actor 2004 for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the movie Ray. Hmm, we'll see. At least that was the thought I had when I rented the DVD last week.

Yep, the Award was justified. As I watched the movie I thought I was watching Ray play Ray. Jamie's performance was so good that I forgot that Jamie was Jamie. Everyone's performance was great. The cinematography was good too. I was blown away by Foxx's performance.

Did I mention yet how good Foxx was?

Even stronger of a performance was Sharon Warren as Aretha Robinson, Ray's mom.

The weakest link (and even she was strong) was Regina King.

Highly recommend this movie.
